Olympic Champion Eliud Kipchoge Auctions NFTs of his Key Moments for a combined 17.98 Ethereum

African athlete and world record holder sells NFTs of his 'key moments' for $40,000.

 

Eliud Kipchoge, the Olympic champion from Africa recently auctioned off his first set of NFTs on the Opensea marketplace for a combined 17.98 ETH. 

 

A recent report revealed that the Olympic champion from Kenya, auctioned his 2019 record-breaking run in Vienna for 14.8837 ethereum tokens, earning another 3.1 ETH approximately $6,500 according to Ether price at the time of writing for his Berlin Marathon run. 

 

However, on Twitter, kipchoge expressed his gratitude that some key moments in his career as an athlete were available as NFT. 

 

He wrote:
I am really grateful to have the highlights of my career available as an NFT. I hope this give someone around the world the same positive memories as it does to me.

 

Meanwhile, the report asserts that Momentible.io created the NFT artwork along with Kipchoge. He is now the latest celebrity among others to join the NFT boom.

 

The Kenyan athlete and Olympic champion became the first person to complete the 42 kilometers and 195 meters under 2 hours at the INEOS 1:59 challenge in Vienna 2019.
